Tiny Impact & Motion — Pixel Art Hit & Movement FX
A downloadable asset pack
Make every hit, dash and landing read.
Your attack connects. Your character lands. Give those moments a visual payoff.
Tiny Impact & Motion is a focused pack of 18 animated pixel-art effects for small platformers and 2D action games: sharp hits, chunky impacts, readable defense effects and little bursts of movement dust.

The effects shown are the actual exported sprites. Characters, the dummy, scenery and the movement controller are demonstration-only and are not included in this effects pack.

Download the free sampler below: Needle Hit, Footstep A and Soft Landing, in the cream treatment, with timing and pivot metadata. Test the scale and feel in your own scene before buying. Commercial project use is allowed under the included license.
Like the fit? The full pack is $3.99 USD and includes all 18 effects, four export treatments and editable Aseprite sources.
From first footstep to final hit

- 6 hits: needle, knuckle, glancing, heavy punch, crush and critical.
- 3 defense effects: block, parry and guard break.
- 8 movement effects: two footsteps, jump, soft landing, heavy landing, dash, skid and wall kick.
- 1 finish: an expanding death poof.
All are one-shot animations. Trigger footstep puffs at foot contact, impacts when a hit connects, and landing dust when the character touches down.

Fit the effect to your palette

Use the cream-and-ochre look, remove the edge accents, tint the white silhouette in your engine, or choose a full dark outline for a light background. 18 animations × 4 treatments = 72 sheets, not 72 different effects.
What you download
- 18 layered .aseprite sources with editable artwork and animation timing.
- 72 transparent PNG spritesheets, plus individual PNG frames.
- 32×32 and 48×48 canvases, designed to stay readable alongside small characters.
- JSON timing and pivots; native Aseprite atlas metadata.
- Offline animation inspector with frame stepping and background controls.
- Optional Godot 4 playback helper for timing, placement and automatic cleanup.
Import a sheet, apply the supplied timing and pivot, and play it once. PNGs are engine-independent; you handle the sprite-animation setup in your engine. The Godot helper was tested in Godot 4.7.1. Unity and GameMaker packages are not included.
No sound effects, characters, tilesets, hitstop system or screen-shake system are included. The effects do not require glow shaders or a particle system.
Commercial project use
Use and modify the effects in personal or commercial projects. No royalties or attribution required. Do not resell or redistribute the raw assets as an asset pack or template. The download includes the full license.
Production disclosure
AI-assisted graphics, code and text. The effects were authored through Lua pixel geometry and rendered/exported in Aseprite. The promotional characters were reconstructed from an AI-generated reference; they are not part of this download. This is not advertised as exclusively human-hand-drawn artwork.
